More than 300 types of guppies have been discovered yet. They live at high temperatures. Baby guppies are peaceful and social fish you can have at your home. But, they do not lay eggs. Instead, they give birth to the small guppies that their young ones eat. This article will describe the physical appearance of baby guppies and how do they look like.

What Baby Guppies Look Like?

Baby guppies are slender and longer in size but round in some cases. The estimated size of baby guppies is 0.4-0.9 cm but may vary in different categories of baby guppies. Also, the color of baby guppies varies according to their gender them. If the baby guppy is female, it will be of brighter color. However, if the baby guppy is a male, the colors will be changed. But, it takes time of fewer days to week development to assume whether the baby guppy is male or female. 

A unique gravid spot is present at the tail side of the baby guppy that shows the female. Whereas this spot is absent in males, distinguishing them from females. The dorsal fin of the baby guppy does not develop at the time of birth but starts growing over time. 

Shapes of the baby guppies are of different types, such as fan-shaped, split-shaped, and ribbon-shaped. However, baby guppies have the eventual ability to blend in the environment where they move or stay. The gut of the baby guppies is quite larger that tends the baby guppies to eat less at a time.
