Baby hermit crabs are born when their eggs reach ocean water, and they go through several phases to reach adulthood. Baby hermit crabs remain in the sand and molt at the last stage of their childhood. They come out as juvenile hermit crabs.

What Baby Hermit Crabs Look Like?

Baby hermit crabs have a rolled belly which is quite softer as compared to other body parts. 

The rolled belly looks longer than any other body part. They also contain a curled tail with an attached hook to fit the shell, which they borrow from other sea animals. With time, they also develop claws like adult hermit crabs. They use a bigger claw for defense purposes and use a smaller claw for eating and cleaning purposes.
