Baby killdeer are abundant in America. They are also found in Canada and in some other parts of the world. In winters, they migrate along with their parents towards Mexico and Central America. Killdeer babies are found on open ground in their nests. Killdeer babies are found on gravel where there is plenty of food so they can eat easily.

The size of a baby killdeer is about 1 to 2 inches in length. Killdeers hatch their eggs for about 26 to 28 days. When a baby killdeer is born he remains in the nest for a day then he moves to feed himself.

The major portion of a baby killdeer diet contains bugs and insects. They mostly eat soft-bodied insects. Baby killdeer can eat grubs, mosquitoes, caterpillars, grasshoppers, beetles, and flies.
