Generally, all pigeons are herbivores as they strictly follow their diet of grains and seeds. But the wildest pigeons tend to eat everything that is easily accessible to them. Moreover, tiny baby pigeons mostly hatch in the nest, and their mothers feed them small seeds and grains.
Baby Pigeons usually eat grains and seeds like corn, oat, peas, corn kernels, wheat. Their main course of diet consists of natural grains and seeds. But if they find them, baby pigeons will eat fruits and vegetables like spinach, lettuce, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, apples, and grapes. Small crumbles of these fruits and vegetables are suitable for a baby’s balanced diet and nutrition.
Moreover, baby pigeons can eat porridge, cereal, cooked or uncooked rice, oatmeal, sesame seed, and other sunflower seeds for better nutrition. Also, baby pigeons can eat bread crumbs but just a tiny amount.

But if food is available for baby pigeons in day time, they don’t feel shy to eat it. So, baby pigeons can eat both day and night time.

In the wild, baby pigeons eat whatever they are provided. Baby pigeons eat grains, seeds, insects, fruit, and vegetables. As they have grown up, they fly away from the nest and tend to prey by themselves.
Do baby pigeons eat cat food and dog food?
Canned dog food and cat food are not for baby pigeons. However, baby pigeons will eat soaked cat food and dog food just for a short period. Other than vegetables and fruits are best for their balanced diet.
