Guinea hens are omnivorous in nature; they are able to insects, fruits, hay, and more. They are capable of eating a little bit of everything, which just goes to show their diverse eating habits.

Guinea hens eat bugs, ticks, ants, Japanese beetles, chiggers, mice, deer ticks, bees, flies, fire ants, mosquitoes, rattlesnakes, boxelder bugs, fleas, grasshoppers, honey bees, gypsy moth caterpillars, lizards, and lanternflies. Additionally, eat worms, wasps, wood ticks, stink bugs, snakes, rats, squash bugs, potato bugs, and chipmunks.

Guinea hens can eat acorns, alfalfa, blueberries, corn, cabbage, flowers, fruit, feed, chicken eggs, grapes, grass seed, hay, gardens, plants, and pumpkins.

You should also know that guinea pigs love to eat cereal as well. You can give them oats, corn, millet, and more to eat.

Feeds

As it pertains to special feeds for guinea hens to eat, they like to eat mealworms, sunflower seeds, mixed feeds, and more.

Human Foods

You can also give guinea hens some human foods to eat as well. If you have certain foods that you’re not going to eat, then you don’t have to throw them away. Guinea hens can eat vegetables, rice, bread, chicken, beef, and more. Human foods are perfectly fine for guinea hens to eat. As long as you don’t overdo it, then there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s also normal for hens and other animals in general to eat some of the foods that their owners eat.

What do guinea hens eat in the winter?

When it’s the winter, guinea hens eat hay, insects, and some vegetation. Chicken or bird feed is also fine for guinea hens to eat during the winter as well.
