What Hamsters Look Like?
Hamsters are nocturnal vertebrate creatures. They have chubby cheeks, small furry ears, and brains almost identical to humans. They usually grow up to 6 inches long and weigh up to 100-150 gm. They have two black eyes that see all colors as one shade that is black and white and have poor eyesight that can see only in the range of six inches and are nearly blind in bright sunlight.
The most unique body part of hamsters is cheek pouches that expand from their jaws to shoulders and help them to store food. They have sharp tiny teeth that grow continuously throughout their lives as they grind their teeth.
With small and stocky hands and feet, Hamsters have small claws on their fingers and toes that help them to dig holes or collect food. They have a small pink nose, round ears, a great sense of smell to locate food and predators, and excellent hearing. They are found in the color black, grey, white, or beige. Their bodies are covered in thick, silky fur that can be long or short, depends on their species.
