They can eat some leafy green vegetables, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. Killdeers also appear behind the cattle when the vegetation is in process in crops. They also eat dead minnows.

Killdeers don’t eat their eggshells rather they move their eggshells away from their young ones and taught them the searching for food. Also, killdeer don’t eat algae or dead animals.
