Pictus is a fish also known as Pictus cat or pictus catfish. It is a small fish in the pictus family. Pictus catfish are said to be native to the Orinoco and Amazon River basins and is commonly kept as a pet fish in freshwater aquariums. The maximum size of pictus catfish is around 5 inches in length and it’s very rare for these fishes to exceed this size limit even if they are fully grown, but it is possible in some cases. The quality of diet and care plays a huge role in their size development. Pictus catfish have transparent fins and white barbells. As in most Catfishes, the Pictus also has a huge downturned mouth and a forked tail. The major differences between female and male pictus catfish are very slight, females are slightly larger and rounder when they reach their sexual maturity age, and male catfish on the other hand have long and slightly smaller bodies.
