Red tail sharks are black colored sharks with red tail and they are also known as Red tail shark minnow, which is a freshwater species of shark. It belongs to the carp family, cyprinid. It has an omnivore diet, which includes both flesh and a bit of herbaceous matter. It can grow up to 16 cm in length. The lifespan of red tailed sharks is around 5 to 8 years. These are expensive sharks and many people like to keep them domestically because of their unique tail color. They basically have normal black tails but soon after the 10th week of egg hatch, the tail turns red. Red tail sharks are endemic to Thailand. They are mostly found in fast-moving rivers, lakes, and streams. These sharks like to feed in depths, i.e. they are bottom eaters. They are nocturnal and like to stay in dark shady areas. Red tail sharks feed aggressively.
