Eating Habits of Tortoise

The tortoise belongs to the Testudines order of reptiles that live on land. Tortoises, like their marine counterparts, turtles, have a shell that protects them from predators. The top of the shell is the carapace, and the bottom is the plastron, with the bridge connecting the two. An endoskeleton and an exoskeleton are also present in the tortoise. Tortoises can grow from a few centimeters to two meters in length. 

The tortoise’s age is determined by the number of concentric rings on the carapace, which resemble a tree cross-section. Males usually have a longer, more protruding neck plate than females.
