Despite the fact that whale sharks have hundreds of teeth, they do not use them to eat. So, they swim forward, sucking up prey as it passes between their lips. Whale sharks are meat loving carnivores and which is why their diet mostly consists meat. Whale sharks eat crabs, fish larvae, krill, shrimps and jellyfish. They don’t eat Humans.
Despite the fact that they are carnivores who enjoy meat, whale sharks do not harm humans. They are filter feeders, and their diet consists of krill, crab, sea turtles, and fish larvae, sardines, small schooling fish, pufferfish and jellyfish, plants, grass, seaweed, among other things. In contrast to the majority of their relatives, these sharks do not assault and rip apart their prey. Whale sharks are filter feeders, the fact that they are carnivorous flesh eaters. Opening their lips allows water to enter while their bodies filter out food, and then they expel the water along with any detritus back into the ocean to continue their journey.
The majority of their diet consists of plankton, although they also consume shrimp, algae and other marine plant material, as well as sardines, anchovies, fish eggs, mackerel, squid, and albacore tuna.
