Whippet, an obedient and loving dog, is a sighthound breed that originated in England and is rarely present in other countries. Like other dogs, whippets also feed on meat. But as pet animals, they usually live on dog foods. This article will discuss what their bodies are made up of and what type of appearance they have.

What Whippets Look Like?

Whippet is very well known for its affection, well-manners, and stylish looks. They have a broad chest, slim waist, and long arched neck. They are a medium-sized breed with an average height of around 21 inches and weigh 25 to 40 pounds. Whippets are famous for tracking their target with a flexible body, keen eye, and perfect sense of smell.

Whippets have long, sturdy legs that make them extremely athletic and one of the fastest dogs in the world. They were nicknamed as ‘Poor man’s Racehorse’ for their incredible and unique speed. They are a short-haired breed that makes them detests winter weather. They range in various colors from black, white, brindle to even red and blue. 

With great intelligence and a short-coat body, whippet has low body fats percentage. At least their two to four ribs are visible, and you can even see the whole ribs in young whippets. They have rose-shaped ears, usually pointing in an upward direction. They have large eyes and a thin tail that whippet always keeps down. They have thin and sensitive skin that makes them avoid rain or cold. Even they look immensely skinny; whippets are generally considered to be among the healthier breeds of dogs.
