What Does Bmw Business Edition Mean?

Writer Caleb Butler

BMW is a manufacturer of high-quality luxury cars. The body styles available in the US include sedans, convertible coupes, station wagons, hybrids, and SUVs. As with most high-end brands like Audi and Mercedes-Benz (see what the difference is between an Audi A4 and an Audi S4) BMW has two different lines for their products: BMW Business Edition and BMW Editions.

Business Edition models have a number of features that separate them from the standard model in a respective lineup. These differences in standard equipment are designed to appeal to a specific set of drivers who want a lot more in terms of both luxury and benefits when compared to the base model they are purchasing.
The first model to receive the Business Edition designation was the BMW 7-Series back in 2009. A couple of years later, the 5 and 7 Series models were offered as both a standard and business edition variation. At this time, all three series were also designated with an M Sport Edition (MSE) which included many of the same extras as the Business edition but added track handling capabilities.

Since 2013, there have been no additional models receiving the Business Edition moniker although you can still purchase a BMW 535i xDrive or a 750Li if you are looking for an option other than basic models.
BMW Editions are special cars that are produced by BMW for each new model year following release, these editions include unique paint colors, wheel designs, interior trim, and special features. The idea behind the BMW Edition is to give customers a unique option that separates them from the standard model.

A good example of this is the BMW M4 GTS which was an edition model released in 2016. This car had a water-injection system that helped it achieve 600hp and allowed it to go from 0 to 60mph in just 3.6 seconds. It also came with a Harman Kardon sound system, black forged alloy wheels and a number of other unique features not found on the standard M4.

The bottom line is that if you are looking for something special and want to stand out from the rest, consider purchasing a BMW Edition car. While they may be a little more expensive than standard models, they are well worth the extra cost.
