When can I workout after rhinoplasty?
Gabriel Cooper
Workout after rhinoplasty may not be possible for weeks. After rhinoplasty surgery, it is important to take many precautions in order to properly recover. Many people are surprised to learn that there are restrictions on what they should do following a nose job. You cannot work out too strenuously for several weeks after an extensive plastic surgery procedure such as a rhinoplasty. You must give your body time to heal.

Your restrictions on physical activity will be determined by how extensive your plastic surgery was. During the first week or two following rhinoplasty, I recommend that patients walk around as much as they can and avoid lying down flat. If you lie down, keep your head elevated and use at least two pillows to support your head. Thereafter, you should gradually resume normal levels of activity.
You should not engage in intense physical activity or exercise too much for a period of six weeks after surgery. While it is true that many people who have a rhinoplasty generally return to their normal routines within a matter of days or weeks, it is important to take your time and allow your body ample time to heal.
If you have had surgery on the tip of your nose, for example, it is likely that you will experience some pain as your nasal tissues start healing. In this instance, it is important not to encourage or aggravate the pain by exercising too much. It is also vital that you wear a postoperative bandage for at least ten days after having your surgery and avoid other injuries to the area.
It may be tempting to resume normal activity as soon as possible following an extensive plastic surgery procedure such as a rhinoplasty, but you should take your time and not rush too much. Doing things gradually will allow your body to heal thoroughly and give you the best possible results.
As I previously mentioned, there are certain restrictions on physical activity for a period of six weeks after the surgery. This is usually enough time for your nose to heal properly, although it is possible to return to regular exercise sooner than this if you so desire.
