Where do cardinals sleep at night?
Caleb Butler
Cardinals sleep in a variety of places, depending on the season. During cold weather from November to March, cardinals roost in dense foliage and evergreen trees, making bark crevices their preferred homes. But come spring, as temperatures warm, many cardinals move to more open areas. By summer, birds may be found roosting in any of these spots.

Cardinals like magnolias because their bark is rough, which gives their breast feathers something to grip, and their flowers give them food every few hours. And it’s not just because they’re pretty to look at magnolia flowers are also a rich source of nectar and pollen, providing energy that helps cardinals spend more time searching for seeds and natural foods.
Where do Cardinals make their nests?
Cardinals make their nests on the top of large trees twigs, pine needles, and small branches. First, the male Cardinals will find a good choice of tree to build the nest. They then work to clean out a good space that is right in the middle of the branches. Cardinals will first use twigs and pine needles to start building the bottom foundation. After that is done they use lots of small branches to cover more area. Once they have everything cleaned up they will begin with lots of soft materials such as same and squirrel fur. Then after all this is done they will go and get a female to come up and lay her eggs.
Do cardinals sleep with their eyes open?
No, unlike owls and seals, cardinals cannot sleep with their eyes open. They must close their eyes in order to sleep or rest. This is because of how the eyes move when sleeping. When we are awake our eyes move back and forth and up and down, looking around at what is happening, focusing on different things.
