Where do frogs sleep? - Kylon Powell
Ethan Hayes
Frogs often sleep underwater, balancing on the surface tension of a film of water. Sometimes they attach themselves to underwater plants with their hind feet, poke their heads above the surface, and sleep while floating in this position. Other times they will hang from the underside of a stream bank or other overhang. Of course, if it rains, they will simply curl up in a ball and sleep wherever they happen to be.

Frogs hide in a variety of places. Some frogs burrow into the ground and live under logs or tree bark. Others can be found living in trees, while some have even been found hiding in bushes. They love to live near water, and many of them swim around its edges.
When frogs are in danger, they use their color-changing cells to blend in with the background. This is called camouflage. By looking at the frog on each slide in this presentation, you can try to determine where on the slide the frog is camouflaged.

What happens a frog is in danger?
When a frog is in danger, it releases a mucus from its skin that coats the frog and creates a sticky environment for predators. When the predator is trying to eat the frog, instead of eating it, the mucus will cause other tissues to swell up. This swelling causes disease and death to the predator within 24 hours.
