Where to put coolant in 2014 bmw 750li?

Writer Sarah Silva

It is important during the life of your 2014 BMW 750Li that you maintain it properly. Many fluids, gaskets and seals need to be checked periodically for leaks or an overall poor condition. Coolant also needs to be added in order for your car to keep running at its best. Your owner’s manual can tell you where the coolant reservoir is located in your vehicle. It should either be red, blue, or green; however, this isn’t always the case because some manufactures use colorless coolants these days which means they blend with the water inside of them so owners aren’t able to physically see if their fluids are very low or not.

The location of the coolant reservoir will vary depending on what model year your car is as well as the engine type. The front of the car may have a radiator cap on it and the reservoir will be located behind that. If your car doesn’t have a radiator cap on the front, then it’s likely that the reservoir will be located on top of the engine near the windshield. You’ll need to take off the black plastic cover in order to see it and add coolant to it by using either a funnel or a measuring cup. Be very careful not to spill any coolant on your car’s paint job as it can be difficult to remove.

Once you’ve found the reservoir, you’ll want to make sure that the level of coolant is at or above the “full” line. If it isn’t, then you’ll need to drain some of the coolants out until it is. Drain your coolant into a container that can be sealed off and disposed of properly since this fluid isn’t environmentally friendly. Once all the old coolant has been replaced with new, then refill the reservoir to its maximum level and replace the black plastic cover that hides it from plain view.

The water pump needs to have its rubber gasket replaced periodically as well because they begin to harden after time due to being heated up so much by being next to the engine block. You can find out how often this job should be done by checking your owner’s manual or consulting with a
service technician. In any case, once’ve found where your water pump is located in your vehicle you’ll need to remove the coolant reservoir in order to get access to it. The water pump is usually above or next to the crankshaft pulley and directly attached to the engine block.
