Writer Rachel Davis

The Black Crows skins are produced in Austria with a premium blend comprised of 70 percent organic Mohair and 30 percent synthetic materials, resulting in a perfect balance of grip, glide, and toughness. In 2006, Camille Jaccoux and Bruno Compagnet have registered the label Black Crows in Chamonix, France. Their goal was and is still to design skis that provide the highest performance and maximum flexibility. Design is also one of the most important aspects of the BC project, which you can see by watching the skis.

The products of black crows are used and trusted by a number of top skiers around the globe.

Climbing skins are the single most significant element of the equipment. They are is also a symbol of skiing mountaineering. They are attached to the bottom of the ski prior to the ascent, the skins are taken off from the ski, packed, and stored in the backpack when skiing down. The layer for climbing is composed of nylon, mohair, or a combination of both materials, giving skins distinct characteristics. Mohair is a great material for both grip and climbing up a fantastic slide simultaneously. Furthermore, mohair works even at very low temperatures, but it has a lower service life. The nylon has superior climbing capabilities but it has more sliding features however it has a longer service life. The ideal solution is a mixture of both mohair and nylon.
