Northwood, Ohio is where it is located. Carl R. Hirzel founded the Hirzel Company in 1923. The Hirzel family currently administers the organization, with the fourth generation taking the lead.

Carl R. Hirzel was a Switzerland migrant that live in New York alongside his life partner, Lena, and establish a brewer enterprise. The Hirzel Company purchased a facility in Pemberville, Ohio in 1954. The business grew to something like the second unit in Ottawa, Ohio, during 1982. Hirzel Canning Company is well known for its Dei Fratelli Brand Tomato, which itself was launched in 1980, & the Silver Fleece Fermented foods.
