Why Do Squirrels Chew Electrical Wires?
Andrew Davis
Assume your teeth grew uncontrollably indefinitely. Your face would eventually become a disfigured mass dominated by jagged tooth shards. Alternatively, you would have to pay a premium for a tooth trim. This is the situation with squirrels. Fortunately for us, our teeth cease growing. Squirrels, on the other hand, never get that kind of oral relief.

If people only ate such foods, their teeth would wear down to stubs. Squirrel teeth, on the other hand, are continually growing to address this issue. This is why we see them biting on different objects like wood, metal, and plastic.
They chew on these items to keep their teeth in check and prevent them from becoming too long. They will bite on various materials multiple times per day.
When squirrels climb through your home’s roof, they will find a variety of materials to munch on. They can get into your attic by chewing small holes in your house’s walls or roof. When they get inside, they’ll look for a safe area to build a nest.
This occurs predominantly during the spring breeding season. Squirrels are vulnerable to electrical lines and support beams while in your attic or roof. These are great materials for gnawing and controlling their growing teeth.
